Pregnancy and Paediatric Chiropractic with Samantha

Pregnancy is incredible — but it can also be physically demanding. As your baby grows, your centre of gravity shifts, ligaments soften, and the pelvis adapts. This can lead to lower back pain, pelvic girdle pain (PGP), sciatic symptoms, mid-back and rib discomfort, neck and shoulder tension, postural strains.
Chiropractic care during pregnancy focuses on improving joint mobility, reducing muscular tension and optimising pelvic alignment — helping your body adapt more comfortably to the changes happening week by week.
Samantha Blundy is our go to Pregnancy and Paediatric Chiropractor at Chellaston Chiropractic Clinic. Alongside her routine Chiropractic appointments she has been providing pre and post-natal Chiropractic care since she qualified in 2023. Her passion for perinatal care really grew in her final year of the Master’s in Chiropractic at AECC University College in Bournemouth. Working alongside student midwives, she assessed feeding parents and their babies for physical tension and discomfort, and learned so much about the mechanics of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. She now holds an Advanced Infant Feeding Coach qualification and a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapy qualification, and use these alongside her Chiropractic skills to shape the way she cares for you.

Why Pelvic Alignment Matters
- The pelvis plays a key role during pregnancy and birth. When the joints and surrounding muscles are moving well, it can:
- Reduce unnecessary strain
- Support better biomechanics
- Improve comfort with daily activities
- Encourage optimal space for baby to move
“Every treatment is shaped around you and your goals. We’ll start with a thorough history of who you are, where life has taken you and where you’re at right now, so we can understand why your body needs a helping hand.’
What to Expect in a Pregnancy Chiropractic Appointment
- Gentle, pregnancy-specific techniques
- Side-lying and supported positions for comfort
- Individualised assessment and treatment
- Exercise and movement advice tailored to your stage of pregnancy
- Practical strategies you can use at home

You might also have a baby who seems tense or uncomfortable, or a “wonky head” following birth that you’d like checked (Sam hears those words a lot!). She uses gentle techniques designed for little ones, and will always point you in the right direction if something needs a different specialist. Older children and teens are welcome too – whether it’s a sports injury, posture, or aches and pains you’d like checked out by an expert. She loves it when the whole family comes along!
“So bring me your questions, pains, concerns and worries, and I’ll bring the guidance, accountability and support. Together, we can build the changes that make a lasting difference to you and your family.”
